Phlorizin, also known as dihydroxyphenol acetone 2,4,6-trihydroxy-3- (4-hydroxyphenyl) phenylacetone. It is a new type of natural skin whitening agent recently developed abroad, mainly distributed in the skin and root bark of juicy fruits such as apples and pears. Rhizodermatin can be used in facial mask, skin cream, lotion and essence. Pearl white crystalline powder, soluble in ethanol and acetone, almost insoluble in water.

★What is the appearance and purity of your Phloretin?

★Is Phloretin water-soluble or oil-soluble?

Phloretin is slightly water-soluble, better oil-soluble.

It can be dissolved in ethanol, propylene glycol, glycerin, or oil phase for better formulation compatibility.

★Is Phloretin better than other antioxidants?

Phloretin has a broad-spectrum antioxidant effect, stronger than vitamin E and similar to ferulic acid. It is especially effective in stabilizing vitamin C and reducing irritation, making it ideal for high-end formulas.

★What is the recommended dosage of Phloretin in cosmetic formulations?

Phloretin is active at low concentrations:

Antioxidant serums (with vitamin C + ferulic acid): 0.5-1.5%

Whitening / anti-pigmentation products: 0.5-1%

Anti-aging creams / lotions: 0.3-1%

Sunscreen boosters: 0.5-1%

Penetration enhancer in formulations: 0.1-0.5% (for functional enhancement)

For the classic CEF serum, the typical ratio is 15% L-ascorbic acid + 1% Phloretin + 0.5% ferulic acid. Start at 0.5% for first trials.

★Is Phloretin approved for cosmetic use in the EU, USA, and China?

EU: Listed in CosIng as Phloretin (CAS 60-82-2) with no concentration restriction.

USA: Allowed as a cosmetic ingredient; FDA has no specific ban.

China (NMPA): Listed in IECIC 2021 (INCI: 根皮素) with no maximum concentration specified (typical use ≤1%).

★Can Phloretin be combined with other active ingredients (retinol, niacinamide, AHAs, peptides)?

With niacinamide: Fully compatible.

With AHAs/BHAs: Yes, but keep pH >3.5 to avoid potential degradation (Phloretin is stable down to pH 4.0).

Avoid combining with strong oxidizing agents in the same formula.
