Adenosine 5'-triphosphate (ATP) is an important molecule for energy storage and metabolism in vivo, and is generally referred to as "currency molecular unit" in intracellular energy transfer. ATP is a coenzyme in a variety of reactions, as well as substrates for multiple kinases, which help to propagate signals inside or outside the cells.
