Tetrapeptide-30 inhibits the gene expression of tyrosinase and reduces the amount of tyrosinase; inhibits melanocyte activation and reduces melanin production by reducing melanin α-MSH and melanin precursor POMC. In human keratinocytes, it can significantly reduce UVB-induced mRNA expression of interleukins IL-6, IL-8 and TNF-α.
