EINECS No.: 200-568-1
Application: cosmetics and skin care products
Availability:

UNDECYLENOYL PHENYLALANINEUndecylenoyl phenylalanine is a white powder. It is a structural analogue of α-MSH. By competitively binding the melanin stimulating hormone receptor MC1-R on melanocytes, the melanocytes cannot produce tyrosinase, thereby inhibiting the activity of melanocytes and reducing the production of melanin. According to some clinical trials, undecylenoyl phenylalanine can indeed reduce spots caused by pigmentation. According to research, this ingredient can block α-MSH at a concentration of 0.001%, if the concentration is 1%. Then, the melanin production can be fully suppressed from multiple links, and the effect is more obvious and lasting.

Undecylenoyl phenylalanine has the following characteristics:

1. Significant skin biocompatibility (lipid amino acid structure);

2. Innovative mode of action α-MSH antagonist;

3. Compared with whitening agents such as arbutin, kojic acid, and vitamin C phosphate magnesium, the effect is more significant;

4. Human experiments have proved that its whitening and lightening effect is remarkable;

5. Highly safe within the recommended dosage (2%);

6. Easy to formulate (very easy to use);

7. Has good compatibility and excellent stability.

Usage:

Undecylenoyl phenylalanine has good skin affinity and can control the combination of α-MSH (melanocyte stimulating hormone) and melanin production factors, thereby blocking the process of melanin formation. It can block α-MSH at a concentration of 0.001%, and the best use concentration for Z is 1%. Comprehensively inhibit melanin production from multiple links, and the effect is more obvious and lasting. It is widely used in lotions, creams, creams, facial masks, etc.

★What is Undecylenoyl Phenylalanine?

Undecylenoyl Phenylalanine, also known as Sepiwhite MSH, is a lipophilic, skin-brightening cosmetic raw material that works by regulating melanin-stimulating hormone (α-MSH) for mild and long-lasting whitening.

★What is the appearance and purity of your product?

It appears as an off-white to pale yellow powder with purity ≥ 98%, low impurity and stable batch consistency.

★Is Undecylenoyl Phenylalanine water-soluble or oil-soluble?

It is oil-soluble (lipophilic), suitable for oil phase and emulsified systems.

★How does Undecylenoyl Phenylalanine work?

It acts as an α-MSH antagonist, blocks the signal that stimulates melanin synthesis, and achieves whitening without damaging skin cells.

★What products is it suitable for?

Whitening serum, spot-correcting cream, brightening emulsion, day cream, night cream, body whitening lotion, post-sun repair products.

★What is the recommended usage rate?

Recommended addition concentration: 1%–3%, can be adjusted according to product positioning and efficacy requirements.

★What pH range is suitable?

Stable in pH 5.0–7.0, compatible with most medium-acid to neutral formulations.

★How does Undecylenoyl Phenylalanine differ from traditional whitening agents (kojic acid, arbutin, vitamin C)?

Traditional agents work downstream by inhibiting tyrosinase or reducing melanin precursors. Undecylenoyl Phenylalanine works upstream by blocking the hormonal signal (α-MSH) that triggers melanogenesis. This makes it effective for preventing UV-induced tanning and reducing existing dark spots with a lower risk of irritation. It is also much more stable and easy to formulate than kojic acid or pure vitamin C.

★Is Undecylenoyl Phenylalanine approved for cosmetics in the EU, USA, and China?

EU: Listed in CosIng as a permitted cosmetic ingredient with no concentration restriction (typical use 0.5-2%).

USA: Allowed; not restricted by FDA.

China (NMPA): Listed in IECIC 2021 (INCI: Undecylenoyl Phenylalanine) with a maximum concentration of 2% for leave-on products. It is a recognized whitening/lightening agent.

We provide full registration documents including COA, MSDS, TDS, and China compliance declaration.
